Passive Solar

Any solar collection system which is entirely passive; it would have no moving parts, pumps or fans.

A very basic greenhouse is one example. A system where a sun-facing window allows heat to be collected in a thermal mass, such as rocks or water, to be dissipated during non-sunlight hours is another.
