Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO)
Waste Vegetable Oil is generally referred to the use and then discarded oil from deep frying. Rapeseed oil (canola) is thought to be the most readily available and used in the fast food business. Impurities are often filtered out before disposal, using paper filters larger but simular in shape to that in coffee maker filters. WVO is often used as a cheap or free source for biodiesel manufacturing. Using Methanol and Sodium Hydroxide, some heat and some patience, you can triesterify WVO into Biodiesel.
